Drop-off SWS has two household contaminated materials facilities. SWS household contaminated materials facilities accept contaminateds materials from households and companies. Organizations must certify as Conditionally Exempt Little Amount Generators or CESQGs. Research It Here are companies that create less than 220 pounds of any dangerous wastes per month. Drop off harmful household materials consisting of: Antifreeze Art and Hobby Materials Batteries (car) Batteries (non-auto): approximately 40lbs everyday (max 220lbs each month) Cleaners: as much as 5 gallons or up to 40lbs Corrosives Fluorescent lamps and bulbs Fuels: diesel, gas, kerosene, gas Light ballasts Paints, solvents, and preservatives: DO NOT dispose of in garbage or sewage system.
These areas are open during the exact same hours as the facilities where they lie. The used motor oil is later improved; a few of it goes for usage in ship engines, or back into functional oil for cars. An additional 5 gallons will be accepted at CTS for an added fee of $1.
- Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a. m. - 3:30 p. m. - Stop in the front workplace and a worker will direct you to the waste oil tank. - Only tidy waste oil, not contaminated with anti-freeze, gasoline or other fluids, will be a accepted. Anything polluted will be gone back to you for your disposal.

City of San Diego homeowners are encouraged to bring their utilized or leftover oil and oil filters for disposal and recycling to our Used Oil and Oil Filter Recycling Events conducted throughout the year around the City. Only utilized motor oil, oil filters, infected oil, antifreeze and car batteries are accepted.
Maximum transportation limit: 10 gallons. These events are geared to "house mechanics" just. No commercial or business waste. Some regional sellers (Vehicle, Zone, Firestone, and O'Reilly) also accept utilized oil and oil filters.
